Sod Installation

Many of our customers choose to have new sod installed in the areas where they were having issues with poor drainage. While we are there with the equipment and have the ground prepped and ready, it is a great investment to give your lawn that fresh finishing touch.

We have several attachments for our equipment to assist with installing sod properly, and we source all of it locally. This ensures your new lawn has every chance to establish and flourish.

There are a few basic steps to installing new sod, and like the rest of this type of work, remember; it may look easy watching someone else do it, but it is actually very hard physical work. By having GlennStone install it, your back will thank you!

✔️ The existing sod needs to be removed first.
✔️ It’s important that the topsoil is loosened up, like a farmer plowing the field.
✔️ All the rocks, clumps of dirt & roots must be raked up and removed.
✔️ The new sod is carried from the street to the area where it will be installed.
✔️ Lay the sod, neaten the edges, smooth it out.
✔️ Over seed the shady spots and surrounding areas when/where needed.

Then it is crucial that you water the new sod frequently once it is installed. Hot weather increases the amount of water needed to make sure the new sod survives.
